School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Title: School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Location: Waterford, MI Company: Strides Therapy & Educational Services Position Overview: As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students' overall success and well-being in the school environment. Additional Details: In person only Must reside within 40 minutes of the school district Master's Degree in Speech & Language Pathology, Valid full Michigan License in Speech and Language Pathology Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC); CFs can be considered Current LARA licensure Strong understanding of standardized and informal assessment strategies related to communication disorders Confident in conducting comprehensive speech & language evaluations Ability to plan and provide services for students identified as speech and language impaired Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate speech and language functions Complete comprehensive and appropriate evaluations according to MARSE Standards, District Guidelines, and ASHA Guidelines Provide a complete diagnostic summary report, including a summary of the evaluation information Maintain communication with parents and other relevant team members Document student progress through specific objectives and long-term goals Complete Medicaid billing services for students efficiently and in a timely manner Participate in building designated teams to provide pre-referral interventions Make a referral for further evaluation when appropriate Provide direct services related to expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language Qualifications: Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (if applicable) Educator Certificate (if applicable) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA unless a CF Strong interpersonal and communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Experience in private practice or outpatient settings preferred Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care Benefits: Health Benefits on Day 1 (Medical, Dental, Vision) with 50% employer contribution 401k with match and immediate vesting, 100% match for the first 3% and 50% for 4% and 5% Up to 40 hours PTO/sick time State Licensure Reimbursement National Certification Stipend Professional liability insurance EAP short-term disability Cancer insurance Pet insurance Life insurance Catastrophe medical Please see our website here to learn more about us: Please contact Dana Morgan for more information and additional details.
