Shifts: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (subject to change based on unit needs)


Seven Healthcare are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment in a dynamic environment. The role is focused on the sterile processing of surgical equipment and instruments in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This position requires candidates to be proficient with Steris machines, ensuring operational excellence in a variety of healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities of the Sterile Processing Technician

• Prepare and deliver clean and sterilized instruments and equipment for medical procedures
• Sterilize, wrap, organize, and prepare medical equipment and surgical instruments into trays
• Lay out surgical gloves and gowns before medical procedures
• Collect and manually clean used medical equipment, sorting for decontamination
• Prepare and pack decontaminated tools for sterilization
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment
• Examine supplies for cleanliness and report issues with sterilization equipment
• Maintain records of sterilization procedures and supplies
• Reorder medical and surgical supplies and manage inventory
• Remove and dispose of medical waste appropriately

Requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD or CRCST/HSPA) required
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
• Current AHA BLS certification (cannot be within 30 days of expiration)
• Experience with decontamination, assembly, general instrumentation, laparoscopic instruments, and flexible endoscopes
• Sterilization experience, including steam and low temperature, with facility-specific equipment
• Dental tray assembly experience
• [CER (HSPA), CIS (HSPA), or CSIS (CBSPD) certifications are highly desired but not required]
