Federal Staff Reporting Analyst [Remote]

Role Overview

Apply federal and military staff-writing expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. You will create high-quality reporting examples, assess submissions, and shape the guidance used to evaluate federal report generation. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, review, and refine authentic federal reporting materials from provided prompts and documentation, including Weekly Action Reports, Situation Reports, after-action summaries, and executive briefings.
• Write clear responses and summaries that reflect federal and military reporting styles, standards, and documentation practices.
• Evaluate and grade project submissions against detailed criteria for clarity, accuracy, compliance, and adherence to reporting conventions.
• Develop input artifacts and reference responses for status, activity, and compliance reports used across federal agencies and military branches.
• Help develop guidelines, evaluation criteria, and grading rubrics for AI training related to federal report generation and staff writing.
• Advise on task design and requirements using specialized reporting experience, and participate in feedback cycles to keep deliverables aligned with evolving project and client standards.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of federal reporting or staff-writing experience in a U.S. Department of Defense context.
• Experience producing templated reports such as WARs, Monthly Activity Reports, SITREPs, after-action reports, executive summaries, and related documents.
• Experience with one or more U.S. military branches. Experience across multiple branches or positions is valued.
• Knowledge of military writing, federal documentation standards, report generation and evaluation, grading-rubric development, Department of Defense procedures, and compliance best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with close attention to clarity, tone, and federal style-guide compliance.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to prepare official reports, memos, and presentations.
• Ability to explain reporting methods and provide feedback for training and assessment.
• A record of handling confidential reports compliantly in a federal or military setting.

Work Terms

• Independent contractor engagement.
• Remote work, limited to candidates based in the United States.
• Collaborative remote work is required.

Compensation

$40 to $80 per hour.
