As a growing healthcare organization, we're expanding access to specialized allergy and immunology care across communities.We're seeking a Medical Assistant to join our dynamic allergy and immunology clinic team. In this role, you will support clinical care teams by gathering detailed patient medical histories, reconciling medications, and accurately updating electronic medical records. This position requires familiarity with general allergy and immunology practices, procedures, and medications. The Medical Assistant will assist with allergy testing, support in diagnostic and treatment procedures, and play a key role in administering immunotherapy.Location: 2108 AL-Hwy 157, Cullman, ALKey ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates appropriate technique for obtaining vital signsObtain spirometry and Niox testing on patientsCompetency and knowledge of general allergy practice, procedures, and medicationsKeep exam rooms well stocked and cleanCommunicate in an effective and timely manner with the Department Lead and/or the appropriate members of the management teamDisplay a high level of professionalism in patient/parent interactionsAbility to appropriately document activities in EMRPerform other job-related duties as assignedThis position may be required to travel to other clinics for staffing needsQualifications, Education, and ExperiencePrevious experience working with patients in a medical settingCompletion of a Medical Assistant program and Medical Assistant certification preferredUnderstanding of basic medical terminologyExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to function well in a fast-paced and at times, stressful environmentExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of EMR systemProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwarePhysical RequirementsAbility to sit for extended periods and communicate effectivelyRegular use of hands and arms to write, type, and operate office equipmentOccasional physical movement, including reaching, bending, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and sensing odorsAbility to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and occasional overhead reachingAbility to lift and carry moderate weights (up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly) while maintaining visual focus and awarenessWhy Join AllerVie?When you join AllerVie Health, you become part of a purpose-driven team dedicated to transforming lives through compassionate allergy care.
