Facilities Technician

Job Summary Responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks and equipment repair. Requires moderate physical exertion, including lifting, bending, walking, and standing. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Observe equipment in operation to prevent/diagnose potential problems. Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove, repair and replace defective or worn parts. Install, repair, or rebuild equipment and replace ordinary parts as necessary. Maintain machinery, equipment and facility in good repair. Perform electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic system repairs to facility and production equipment, including HVAC and refrigeration. Understand general construction drawings (plumbing, hydraulics, electrical, pneumatics, etc.). Maintain and service plumbing, gas, air, drains and wastewater systems. Work with a high degree of autonomy and minimal supervision to support production priorities. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Perform all other duties as assigned or directed. Work Location Required to be on‑site 4 days (Tuesday‑Friday) at the El Cajon, CA location. Qualifications Ability to read and write English at the level required to fulfill essential job functions. Mechanically inclined with 2+ years of experience in a Facilities Technician role or equivalent. Experience in hazmat duties. Able to use hand and power tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets, hammers, etc.). Able to safely operate all company vehicles and industrial vehicles; hold a California Driver's License and be insurable. Requires moderate physical exertion, including lifting, bending, and considerable time standing (up to 50 pounds). Additional Duties Communicate to appropriate personnel any problems or concerns regarding maintenance of clean and safe working conditions or any janitorial duty situation that might affect production. Proficient at housekeeping and maintaining a safe working environment throughout the facility. Knowledge of driver safety and safe cleaning procedures is required. Adherence to company safety rules is mandatory, and protective safety equipment and clothing appropriate to the task are required. Physical requirements: able to lift up to 50 pounds; able to work on ladders, in confined spaces, and in outdoor weather conditions; able to reach, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb; able to detect odors; capable of driving a forklift; able to transport self and equipment to all plant locations required by essential job functions. ITAR Compliance This position requires access to information or technology subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Compensation may vary based on qualifications and experience. Variable performance-related bonuses may be available.
