Materials Handler

Assist the Durango Public Library team by checking in, organizing, and re-shelving Library materials as a part-time Materials Handler. What You'll Do in This Role:

• Provide friendly, proactive, and knowledgeable assistance to Library patrons.
• Sort and shelve Library materials.
• Ensure that materials are shelved in their proper order.
• Answer basic directional questions and refer patrons with other inquiries to the appropriate service desk.
• Adhere to Library policies and procedures.
• Assist in providing a secure environment for patrons, staff, and library materials.
• Answer the Library telephone and direct calls to the appropriate staff or department.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

You Have:

• Minimum of two years high school education.
• A basic understanding of the Dewey Decimal System and the alphabet.
• The ability to follow oral and written instructions.

• Understand the role of the library and are eager to learn its daily procedures.
