About the Position

Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 Years in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Newborn Care License: Compact License Required Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience floating as needed - Ability to circulate in the operating room - Proficiency in starting adult IVs and administering blood and blood products - Familiarity with drains, epidural pumps, and PCA pumps - Knowledge of insulin and magnesium sulfate administration Description: This position requires experience in labor and delivery, postpartum care, OB triage, antepartum, and normal newborn care. The nurse will float between units as needed. Candidates must have a compact license and meet certification requirements. Special procedures include vaginal delivery and cesarean delivery. Key skills include the ability to manage high-risk antepartum and labor & delivery cases. The nurse will also handle postpartum care and assist with newborn care. Daily responsibilities involve patient assessments and maintaining a safe environment. Effective communication with interdisciplinary teams is essential. Strict adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols is required. The position necessitates flexibility to assist with varied patient diagnoses. The nurse will engage in patient education and support throughout the labor and delivery process. Compliance with all facility policies and procedures is mandatory. The position may require work on holidays and weekends.
