Pearson Farms is a medium sized family farming operation with alot of "irons in the fire". Our main opperation is our farm. We farm around 2,000 acres of corn, soybeans, silage, seed corn, ect. North of Holdrege, NE. This work includes a good bit of tractor time; tilling, planting, cultivating, and harvesting. Ability to drive a semi-truck isn't required but highly valued! A good portion of what we do in the summer is irrigating, so someone with pivot experience is also highly valued. We do alot of mechanical work in the winter, going through machinery along with taking care of cattle. Pearson Farms has about 300 head of cattle in a red angus cow-calf operation. The cow-calf opperation includes all sort of livestock work. We calve out in March and run the cow calf pairs out on pasture during the summer. In addition to this we run a construction business during the winter months and some in the summer. Anyone with experience in construction would be very useful.

We don't expect to find someone who is skilled in all these areas. Instead we are looking for someone who isn't afraid to learn something new, someone who enjoys a little diversity in their tasks throughout the year. Someone who is self-motivated and able to get some work done without being constantly managed.
