Maintenance Technician - 3rd ShiftOur client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties. This person will be required to be on 24-hour call.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain rigid safety standards as it relates to plant operationWork on projects with all other plant departmentsPerform work on equipment and projects as assigned in a reasonable and timely fashionKeep work area, tools, and maintenance supplies in a clean and acceptable condition at all timesReplace lamps as neededRepair and maintain bathroom facilitiesKeep parking lot and walkway clean and clear of debrisMaintain all equipment to top level working conditionsOrder and follow up of repair parts to maintain inventory levelsBe able to do paperwork that is required on the job. PM documents, etc.Be able to do daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenanceKnow the sequence of operation on pressesRecommend machine repairs, issue work orders, and do follow upBe able to trouble shoot plastic injection molding machines and support equipment such as granulators, thermolators, material dryers, and DMEsMust be able to troubleshoot secondary and auxiliary equipment, replacing sensors etc. as needed to maintain daily productionMust be able to disassemble, measure and install barrels, screws, tip assemblies, heater bands, etc. to include the complete injection unitBe able to determine priority of daily work as it occursDo all work deemed necessary for the safe and overall efficiency of the plant and its employeesBe able to work together with others to complete a taskBe able to stay after scheduled work hours or come in on a 24-hour call-in basisReport and/or initiate corrective action for any unsafe conditions immediatelyContinue training as requiredAll hi-lo drivers must maintain safe driving speeds, have an acute awareness of all surroundings, stop at all cross aislesSupervisory Responsibilities – in the event that this position becomes vacant, the Maintenance Manager will resume responsibilities.Environmental Responsibilities – May be required to function as a member of the environmental response action team, Fire brigade and First responder with specialized training as listed in the tracking system. Provide OJT to personnel where appropriate.Other duties as assignedQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or manager, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Computer Skills- Word processing, spread sheet and data analysis, Windows, PLC programming software.Reasoning Ability- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Industrial maintenance, Hi-Lo license required, Crane and rigging training requiredAbility to work with othersSafety conscious.
