Position Overview

• Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher near Gloucester, VA. This position involves working with students who have diverse learning needs to support their academic, behavioral, and social development in a school-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction tailored to students’ learning needs
• Modify curriculum and classroom activities to support student success
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
• Use evidence-based strategies to support behavioral and academic goals
• Attend IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License (or ability to obtain)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Experience working with students with disabilities (school-based experience preferred)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt instruction for varying ability levels
