Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical department. This position requires a professional who is capable of floating between different units and providing excellent patient care throughout the surgical process, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.

Schedule and Requirements

• Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:00 - 15:00)
• On-Call Requirement: Yes, variable call on weekends and nights (approximately 8 shifts/month)
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, every 3rd or 4th weekend based on rotation and time-off requests
• Block Scheduling: Unknown

Patient Care Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will work in various areas of the surgical department, including but not limited to:

• Pre-Operative Care
• Operating Room (Circulating)
• Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Endoscopy

Patient Ratios

• 1:1, 1:2, 1:4, depending on the unit and patient needs

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience required, preferably in a critical access hospital
• Certifications: Must possess current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• Charting System Experience: Proficient in using Epic

Skills Required

The candidate must be well-rounded in the following surgical services:

• Abdominal and Vaginal Hysterectomy
• Administration of Blood and Blood Products
• Ambulatory OR Care
• C-Sections
• Arthroscopy
• Laparoscopic Procedures
• Colonoscopy and EGD
• Wound Management
• General and Orthopedic Surgical Procedures including Total Joint Replacements

Additional Details

This position may require floating within surgical services and potentially assisting other departments as needed. It is essential for the candidate to be flexible and able to follow patients through their surgical journey from pre-operative assessment to discharge.
