The Purchasing Manager will use expertise in planning and supply chain optimization to ensure the organization meets its objectives in relation to in-stock levels, inventory turns, GMROI, customer backorders, and on-hand inventory targets. This person will be responsible for assisting the company in effectively and efficiently managing its inventory across all channels in the Company.Major Areas of AccountabilityLead purchasing team to ensure achievement of key inventory metrics (e.g., in-stock rates, backorders, etc.) and inventory on-hand targets.Lead inventory management efforts for Fulfilled by Amazon (i.e., FMA) skus.Develop a high-performing team focused on achieving company objectives.Execute planned purchase orders on small subset of Company Vendors.Oversee development, execution and maintenance of Purchasing Department SOP's and Buyer Training regimen.Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that improve inventory quality and productivity, improve efficiency of operations from sku forecasting through customer receipt, and support dynamic changes in market conditions.Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for more effective inventory management.Develop strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the acquisition of accurate, relevant, and timely information to assist in optimized inventory management.Prepare, submit, and present periodic reports as established by leadership to identify purchasing opportunities or areas of concern.Requirements for PositionSelf-driven, adaptable, and resourceful; able to work with limited supervision.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsBachelor's degree in Logistics, Engineering, or related field preferred3-5+ years of experience in demand planning, buying, and inventory management.3-5+ years of experience in managing teams with a minimum of 3 years in managing demand planning/buying teams.Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel.
