Patient Services Representative

Summary: To provide efficient, effective, quality customer service and practice support through a variety of general office duties including scheduling, coding, registration and billing. Maximize revenues by collecting payment at time of service and entering accurate and up-to-date billing information (address, insurance coverage, etc.) into the patient accounting system. One to two years related customer service experience Experience handling difficult caller/customers/patients. What You’ll Do: Regular Schedule Hours: Monday: 9:00am-5:30pm Tuesday: 7:30am-4:00pm Wednesday: 8:00am-4:30pm Thursday: 8:00am-4:30pm Friday: 8:00am-4:30pm *Training hours may vary between 8:00am-4:30pm, 8:30am-5:00pm, 9:00am-5:30pm. As a Patient Service Representative (PSR) , you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day. As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will: Patient Services: Provides efficient, high-quality service to patients who arrive for appointments or who telephone or visit in person to request appointments or information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters. Billing Services: Ensures entry at time of service of billing information on the patient and payer and accurate follow-up on missing information. Medical Record Services: Upholds standards of the practice and of the medical group for accurate and timely medical records. Primary careis the first point of contact in health care, and family medicine physicians care for the entire family through comprehensive preventive care, such as annual physical exams and vaccinations as well as being well trained in the diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses and chronic diseases or can refer you to specialists if needed. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

• ??This position may require travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions. ??
• ?Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.?
• ?Exposed to a normal office environment with significant patient and public contact. May be exposed to ill or contagious patients.?
• ?Must be able to transition from sitting to standing frequently. Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time and be physically mobile throughout the workday.?
• ?Frequently lifts to 10 lbs. and occasionally lifts 20 lbs. or more. This occurs when moving equipment and supplies and when transporting patients and/or charts.?
• ?Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs. with assistance.?
• ?Sensory requirements include vision, hearing and touch. Must also be able to speak clearly.
• Must be able to use hands with fine motor skills for keyboard data entry
