Lead the strategic transition of Alliance Life from a traditional bi-monthly magazine-only model to a digital-first, web-based content hub Develop digital workflows, publishing cadences, and editorial approaches while maintaining the quality and identity of the print edition Manage the Alliance Life editorial calendar and production workflow Coordinate with the user experience team to optimize the digital platform and maintain circulation and engagement objectives Manage editorial direction for digital and print editions Coordinate writing, refining, editing, and proofreading among contributors and freelancers Identify, recruit, and collaborate with writers; evaluate manuscripts for publication Shape content for clarity, narrative strength, and audience engagement Establish and maintain editorial policies and style guidelines Develop and manage the publication budget Plan upcoming issues and digital content, conduct research, and verify factual accuracy Commission, edit, and curate feature stories and photography Support graphic development and secure photos and supporting graphics Coordinate with authors regarding factual data, completeness, continuity, and organizational alignment Maintain contact with the National Office and C&MA constituency to secure information and respond to inquiries Attend biennial General Council and travel nationally or internationally for story-gathering assignments as needed Requirements Four-year college degree in a related field required Requires 5 – 7 years of experience in a related position Preferred experience within the C&MA Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in digital content strategy, editorial management, and workflow optimization, with a strong focus on audience engagement and narrative clarity. Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and maintain editorial standards across both digital and print platforms.
