Senior Receptionist

Sigma Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Receptionist to join a busy healthcare team in Worcester, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with medical office, patient registration, or healthcare administrative experience who thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Epic EMR (preferred), insurance verification, appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and front desk operations.

Schedule

• MondayFriday: 12:00 PM 8:00 PM
• Every Other Weekend (Saturday & Sunday): 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Mixed and variable schedule
• Must be available for evenings and every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
• Check patients in and out for appointments
• Verify insurance eligibility and update patient demographics
• Collect copays, balances, and required documentation
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments
• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to emails
• Complete referrals and prior authorizations
• Scan, upload, and maintain electronic medical records
• Provide administrative support to providers and clinical staff
• Maintain calendars and daily schedules
• Perform accurate data entry and other front office duties
• Utilize Epic EMR (preferred) and Microsoft Office applications
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate's degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a medical office, patient access, or healthcare administrative role
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Strong insurance verification and patient registration experience
• Knowledge of appointment scheduling and front desk operations
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and data entry
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Important Requirements

• Must be available to work evenings and every other weekend
• No planned time off (RTO) preferred during the contract
• Must be willing to float to Community Healthlink locations within a 35-mile radius
• Reliable transportation is required
