DOCKET SPECIALIST Location: New York, NY Compensation: $75,000 – $100,000 annually Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Reports To: Senior Manager of Practice Support Services
Overview: Our client is seeking a Docket Specialist for a newly created role within its expanding, centralized docketing team in New York. This position works closely with the Docket Administrator and supports attorneys, paralegals, and legal administrative assistants across all practice groups, with a strong focus on managing case-specific information in responsible jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
- Enter, update, and monitor critical litigation dates and deadlines in CompuLaw, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal and state rules.
- Research applicable court rules and answer procedural questions from attorneys and staff.
- Review and process incoming case-related notices and correspondence.
- Generate clear, accurate docket reports and perform quality control checks on all entries.
- Complete special projects assigned by the Docket Administrator and Senior Manager of Practice Support Services.
Requirements & Preferences
- Education: Associate's Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 + years of docketing, administrative, or paralegal experience in a law firm setting.
- CompuLaw experience is required.
- E-filing experience is preferred but not required.
- Rules-based calendaring experience is not required.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures, especially in litigation practice areas.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines — polished, error-free resumes are expected from candidates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness to work overtime or travel if needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Candidates should come from Am Law 100 or Am Law 200 firms; candidates from small firms will not be considered.
- Demonstrated stability in employment history — candidates with frequent job changes or short tenures will not be considered.
- Resumes must be polished, consistent, and error-free; even minor formatting inconsistencies may be viewed negatively.
