We are a neighborhood cafe and bakery with a strong local following and a warm, community-focused atmosphere. We are looking for a General Manager to help lead the team, support daily operations, and keep the shop running smoothly.

This is a great role for someone with experience in restaurants, cafes, or bakeries who is organized, communicative, and enjoys leading a team in a hands-on environment.

The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day flow of the business, help create structure, support both front-of-house and back-of-house teams, and work closely with ownership to maintain a high standard of service, cleanliness, and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations across the cafe and bakery.
• Coordinate communication between front-of-house and back-of-house.
• Lead, support, and train team members.
• Hiring, onboarding, and staff development.
• Create structure and help maintain systems for daily service, prep, ordering, and cleaning.
• Oversee scheduling and daily team organization.
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards, including DOH readiness.
• Monitor customer experience and help resolve issues as they come up.
• Support inventory, ordering, vendor communication, and product flow.
• Growing our catering business.
• Communicate clearly with ownership about staffing, operations, issues, and improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the restaurant, cafe, or bakery industry.
• Previous General Manager, Assistant Manager, Shift Manager, Floor Manager, or similar leadership experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Positive leadership style and ability to support a team.
• Comfortable working hands-on and leading by example.
• Understanding of cleanliness, food safety, and daily operating standards.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year, based on experience.

Paid time off.

Full-time position. Weekend and morning availability required.
