Job Title: RN - SICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital ICU experience License: Active RN license Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - NIH Must-Have: - Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital ICU experience - ACLS, BLS & NIH certifications Description: Travel RN position available in a surgical intensive care unit. The unit has a total of 26 beds. Staffing includes 13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, and 1 Patient Care Tech on the night shift. Patient ratios are typically 1:2 and 1:1 for high acuity patients, including post CABG cases. The unit is equipped with balloon pumps, CRRT, hypothermia units, and ECMO. The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech. Candidates are preferred who have prior experience traveling to large trauma facilities. Typical patients include trauma cases, post-CABG, post-TAVR, and general post-surgical ICU patients. Common procedures include managing chest tubes, central lines, and medication drips. Ideal candidates are driven, organized, efficient, and engaged.
