Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Billing Specialist at Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek, Arizona. Canyon State Academy is located on a scenic 180-acre campus surrounded by farm student housing for 300+ youth, a thrift store, cafe, barbershop and church open to the community, incorporating life skills for our students. It also has a fully equipped weight room, football stadium, and athletic center (gymnasium, padded wrestling room & more). What you will do: Manage provider enrollment responsibilities in a timely manner, such as completing validations and verifications requests. Initiate and complete credentialing and re‑credentialing for all contracted and/or hired clinical providers. Oversee collection of all pertinent primary source verification needed for credentialing. Verify client eligibility with Medicaid/Insurance carriers and assist in obtaining authorizations as needed. Work with departments to gather and review required billing information. Verify accuracy and completeness of all billing information needed for payment. Bill Medicaid/Insurance carriers by inputting billing information into database and initiating electronic transmissions. Monitor claims processing and payments. Reconcile all submitted and remitted bills; resolve disputed claims by gathering, verifying, and providing additional information and following up on claims. Communicate with customers regarding their billing and assist in collections. Resolve discrepancies by examining data and selecting corrective steps. Treat others with respect, confront negative behavior, and support confrontations. Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner and advise management of any problematic situations. Comply with and implement Rite of Passage and Rite Path policies and procedures as detailed in the manuals and handbooks. Ensure the highest standards are maintained to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct and keep the program in compliance with agency licensing and policies. Assist with correcting deficiencies and quality improvement efforts. Attend and participate in all required meetings. Commit to attending all training and staff development classes to ensure sufficient hours of training annually; notify supervisor if training hours are deficient. Other duties as assigned, verbally or in written form, to meet the needs of the program. Qualifications High school diploma; BA/BS preferred. At least two years of experience with credentialing and billing Medicaid/Medicare, Medicaid Managed Care plans, and/or Commercial Insurance. Certified Professional Biller preferred. Experience with patient billing, EMR systems and credentialing. If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, you must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver. Must possess a current state driver's license and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years. Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test. Schedule subject to change based on the need of the program.
