Lab Technician: I- Part Time

within the Life Sciences / Biotechnology
industry
to join our client, Onsite , to report to their office in Salt Lake City, UT

• $18.47/hr. on a W2
  
  
• 6/7AM, 4-5 hours per day, Mon-Friday
  

What You Will Be Doing

• Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of client's Quality System
  
• Responsible for the following daily routine tasks with some supervision:
  
• Handling and disposal of laboratory waste; including operation of autoclave.
  
• Maintaining laboratory stocks and supplies.
  
• Routine cleaning and organization of laboratory spaces.
  
• Decontamination of equipment for removal from controlled areas.
  
• Escorting/chaperoning of repair and maintenance technicians in controlled areas.
  
• Minor troubleshooting and routine maintenance of some equipment.
  
• Perform additional tasks as needed to maintain laboratory operation, cleanliness, and efficiency.
  
• Other duties as assigned.
  

Who You Are

• Education:
  HS Diploma/GED required; Associates degree preferred in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science (or equivalent hands-on lab experience)
  
• This is an entry-level role.
  
  No previous experience is required.?
• Lab Exposure:
  Academic, internship, or early-career experience in a microbiology or regulated lab setting preferred
  
• Must be able to reliably maintain a routine part-time work schedule consisting of a shift first thing in the mornings each day of the week.
  
• Must be organized and take responsibility for identifying and resolving issues as they arise with the appropriate guidance from more senior personnel.
  
• General knowledge of computers and a working knowledge of Microsoft office products is desired.
  
• Must have reliable transportation.
  

Working Conditions

• Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
  
• Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like.
  
• Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
  
• Ability to operate heavy machinery.
  
• Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
