Pediatric Cardiology

Overview Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is seeking a pediatric cardiologist to further develop its busy and dynamic outpatient pediatric cardiology and fetal program. This position is BE/BC in pediatric cardiology and involves collaborating with a team of cardiac specialists within the division as well as other in-house and community-based providers. The role is primarily focused on outpatient care including consultation, diagnostics, and longitudinal management of children with congenital and acquired heart disease, with additional general inpatient cardiology service coverage. There are opportunities to work alongside other cardiology subspecialties (including EP, interventional, advanced heart failure/transplant, adult congenital, and advanced imaging) and to develop collaborative relationships with referring community providers and general pediatricians. The Heart Institute at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital treats the full spectrum of cardiac disorders with the most advanced medical and surgical treatments. The division includes three pediatric heart surgeons, five interventional cardiologists, two heart failure/transplant cardiologists, two electrophysiologists, three adult congenital cardiologists, and a robust cardiac imaging service. Outpatient services are supported by nurse practitioners, medical assistants, administrative support, and access to advanced diagnostic tools. Responsibilities Provide outpatient care including consultation, diagnostics, and longitudinal management of children with congenital and acquired heart disease. Participate in evaluation and longitudinal follow-up of patients in various subspecialty cardiology clinics. Collaborate with a team of cardiac specialists within the division and with in-house and community-based providers. Offer general inpatient cardiology service coverage. Contribute to program development efforts aimed at expanding access and care for children across the region. Engage academically depending on interests. Qualifications Board Eligible/Board Certified (BE/BC) in pediatric cardiology. Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of cardiac specialists and providers.
