Job Description

We are seeking an experienced MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide care in a high-volume unit focusing on complex care patients, orthopedic overflow, and long-term management. The RN will be responsible for patient monitoring, medication administration, and support during critical situations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions in accordance with established protocols.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Utilize telemetry skills to monitor patient heart rates and rhythms.
• Implement patient care plans and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Manage peripheral and central lines as well as assist with feeding tubes.
• Provide wound care and isolation precautions as necessary.
• Participate in rapid response and code team situations.
• Educate patients and families about health management and disease prevention.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State RN License.
• Minimum of 1 year of charge nurse experience.
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7 in a MedSurg/Telemetry setting.
• EPIC charting system experience is required.
• Certifications: BLS and NIHSS.
