Firefighter

Job Summary Salary information: $64,219–$67,074 annually based on experience; additional $10,000 per year for those employed as Paramedics. The position is located in the Field Operations Division of the Orlando Fire Department and is supervised by the Company Commander. Firefighters will perform firefighting, rescue, first aid, ventilation, forcible entry, salvage, overhaul, and inspection duties. Duties also include fire suppression, non‑emergency operations, emergency medical services, and other work‑related activities. Certified divers will participate in underwater search and rescue. Requirements State of Florida Firefighter Certification by the close of the application date. EMT or Paramedic certification (Florida) by the close of the application date; National Registry EMT/Paramedic accepted for testing purposes. Successful completion of CPAT, NTN FireTEAM, and PSSA Part 1 testing. Valid Florida driver’s license at the date of hire. Minimum age 18. High School graduate or GED. Citizenship required. Ability to read/speak English. Certified firefighter in the state of Florida by the close of the application date. CPAT result must be within 12 months of application. Experience Equivalences Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree; Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree; Six (6) years of direct experience for a master’s degree; Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree. #J-18808-Ljbffr
