In this role, you will lead the execution of complex transactions, develop and strengthen client relationships, and deliver strategic advice to companies and investors shaping the future of energy and digital infrastructure. You will serve as a senior member of deal teams and a primary day-to-day contact for clients, while providing leadership, guidance and development to Analysts and Associates.Our ImpactThe Energy Technology Group leads strategic advisory and capital formation for the next generation of energy and digital infrastructure companies. We advise market-leading businesses across AI infrastructure, electrification, grid modernization, power generation, energy storage, digital infrastructure and other emerging energy technologies. Our team combines deep sector expertise with a long-term perspective on disruptive technologies, evolving markets and the changing demands of the global power system.Role ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the execution of M&A, IPOs, private financings, structured capital raises, fixed income and equity issuances, and strategic partnershipsServe as a primary day-to-day client contact across multiple complex transactions from origination through closingCreate and analyze financial models, perform customized valuation analyses, structure transactions and support internal committee presentations and funding processesDevelop client presentations that explain industry trends, assess strategic and financial considerations, and recommend tailored solutionsAdvise boards, founders, management teams, infrastructure investors, growth equity firms, utilities, hyperscalers and strategic buyers on growth strategy, capital allocation, financing alternatives and strategic partnershipsDevelop deep sector expertise across AI infrastructure and hyperscale data centers, power generation for AI, grid modernization, power electronics, battery storage, long-duration storage, EV charging, fleet electrification, advanced nuclear, hydrogen, fuel cells, geothermal and energy softwareIdentify disruptive technologies, emerging market leaders and new business opportunities by developing long-term perspectives on AI-driven electricity demand and the evolution of the power systemCoordinate multidisciplinary teams of bankers, attorneys, tax advisors, auditors and other internal and external stakeholdersLead due diligence processes and contribute actively to the negotiation of transaction documentationMentor and develop Analysts and Associates, maintain high-quality analytical standards and client deliverables, and foster a collaborative and intellectually curious team environmentSkills & Experience We're Looking ForBasic QualificationsMaster's degree and several years of Natural Resources, Energy Technology, infrastructure, growth equity or strategic advisory experience, or Bachelor's degree and seven or more years of relevant investment banking or equivalent experienceStrong track record of executing M&A and financing transactions in an investment banking advisory roleDemonstrated financial modeling, valuation and capital markets expertiseTwo or more years of experience leading deal teams of Analysts and Associates and managing multiple workstreams across complex transactionsAbility to translate highly technical concepts into clear strategic recommendations for boards, management teams and investorsStrong interest in emerging technologies shaping the future of energy, AI infrastructure, electrification, grid modernization and digital infrastructureEntrepreneurial mindset and owner's mentality, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop client relationships and generate differentiated ideasAbility to exercise sound judgment and perform effectively in an ambiguous, fast-evolving market environmentExceptional work ethic, intellectual curiosity and history of outstanding academic and professional achievementStrong team orientation and demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple groups, disciplines and regionsAbout Goldman SachsAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
