Registered Nurse - Neuro Stepdown Unit

Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Neuro Stepdown Unit will provide care to patients who are transitioning from the intensive care unit to a lower level of care. The role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to monitor patients closely in a progressive care environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, ensuring that vital signs and neurological status are stable.
• Administer medications and provide interventions as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and post-discharge care.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately in the electronic health record.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 18 months of permanent experience in Neuro Stepdown or similar progressive care unit required.
• Current Ohio RN license or compact state license in hand is mandatory.
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Experience with ECG rhythm interpretation and safe medication administration preferred.
• Must be willing to work at least every other holiday.
