Health Services Specialist

The Health Services Specialist is responsible for supporting patient access and reimbursement services by assisting patients, providers, payers, and internal partners throughout the patient journey. This role focuses on eligibility verification, financial assistance support, copay assistance programs, benefits investigation, and documentation of patient cases to ensure timely access to therapy. The department operates between 8 am and 8 pm and may require an occasional Saturday. This is a hybrid positiion. Possible Temp to Hire opportunity. Schedule Requirements:

• Operating hours for the department are 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM EST.
• Candidates must be flexible to work schedules within these business hours based on operational needs.
• Occasional Saturday shifts may be required.
• Overtime opportunities may be available, including evenings and weekends, based on workload and business demands.
• This is a hybrid position with required in-office days. Additional onsite attendance may be required during onboarding, core training, and as business needs dictate.
Qualifications:
• Must have experience with insurance verification, benefits investigation, financial assistance, speciality pharmacy, or other healthcare-related patient support services
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Microsoft Suite
• Excellent customer service skills

Responsibilities
• Complete insurance verification and benefits investigation activities.
• Assist patients with available financial assistance programs, including copay and foundation support.
• Communicate with providers, patients, payers, and internal teams to obtain and verify required information.
• Document all activities accurately and thoroughly in applicable systems.
• Review patient accounts for completeness and follow up on outstanding items.
• Identify and escalate reimbursement or access barriers as appropriate.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while meeting established service-level expectations.
• Support departmental initiatives and provide coverage in multiple workflow areas as business needs require.
• Adhere to HIPAA, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
