Job Title

RN - PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 10–12 hour shifts (alternating weekly) | 4x10s, 40 hrs/week | Shift start 0645 with call requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical procedures in the PACU setting
• Monitor and assess patient status following anesthesia, identifying and responding to changes in condition
• Deliver clinically competent nursing care to the general surgical unit population with minimal supervision
• Collaborate with the surgical services team to ensure safe and effective patient transitions through the perioperative continuum
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as required by the department schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Demonstrated clinical competency in a PACU or perioperative nursing environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PACU or post-surgical recovery unit setting
• Familiarity with surgical services workflows and perioperative patient care standards
