Position Details Department: PCMG-MAIN | Pathology Faculty Location: Phoenix Shift: Mon-Fri, Days, 8am-5pm Category: Physician/Div Chief/Med Dir Posting #: 1019985 Employee Type: Full-Time Position Summary Pediatric Neuropathologist at Phoenix Children’s. Rapidly expanding division of 18 faculty members within a nationally recognized pediatric healthcare system. Provide expertise in pediatric neuropathology while contributing to a collaborative academic and clinical environment dedicated to advancing pediatric patient care, education, and research. Serve as a clinical attending, supporting an active and growing pathology service that evaluates more than 200 neurological cases and nearly 500 neuropathology specimens annually. Clinical responsibilities include interpretation of pediatric CNS tumors, neuromuscular pathology specimens, epilepsy-related resections, and other complex neuropathologic disorders. Close collaboration with nationally recognized pediatric neurosciences and neuro‑oncology programs. Potential to focus primarily on pediatric neuropathology or expand scope to include adult neuropathology and pediatric surgical pathology. Opportunities for teaching, translational and clinical research, biobanking, molecular neuropathology, program development, and leadership within the Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Qualifications MD or DO degree, board certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology. Completion of fellowship training in Neuropathology required, with additional expertise or interest in pediatric neuropathology preferred. Pediatric pathology fellowship training desirable but not required. Licensed or eligible for licensure in Arizona. Strong diagnostic skills, excellent interpersonal communication, and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams, trainees, and researchers. Responsibilities Patient Care Services Provide direct patient care services on inpatient and outpatient basis, subspecialty consultations and follow-up, diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures, urgent/emergent care as necessary. Strive to achieve best patient and family centered care. Support hospital patient satisfaction goals and division specific targets. Support divisional patient safety and quality of care standards. Practice contemporary evidence based medicine. Divisional Responsibilities Establish and demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives. Support medical education programs and activities: direct supervision of trainees and allied health care professionals, teaching rounds, lectures and conference, participation in teaching and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals, postgraduate continuing educational activities. Support research endeavors of the division and other members. Support programmatic growth of division. Support satellite efforts of division when appropriate.
