AMERI-CANS is looking to hire a full-time Service Technician/Assistant Driver(s) at our location in Ruther Glen, VA. This is a key role leading the day-to-day execution of a rapidly growing portable sanitation company that takes pride in doing things the right way and executing the impossible. Owned by Marine Corps veterans, we have a dynamic team of technicians, operations and maintenance staff that hold the highest standard of performance, integrity, and customer service, without compare. This position consists of servicing, cleaning and stocking portable toilets, holding tanks, freshwater systems, hand-wash stations and restroom-shower trailers as needed. You are responsible for completing daily routes, while maintaining professional customer contact and open lines of communication with the dispatcher. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers daily for completing service routes
• Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.)
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on restroom trailers (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural components).
• Install, uninstall, and troubleshoot temporary water and waste systems, pumps, and related systems.
• Service, clean and stock portable toilets, holding tanks, freshwater systems, hand-wash stations and restroom-shower trailers as needed.
• Vacuum pump, clean and sanitize portable restroom units on customer site.
• Stock/replenish paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap and refill water holding tanks.
• Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
• Repair portable restroom units onsite as necessary.
• Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
• Complying with truck driving rules and regulations
• Reporting defects, accidents, and violations
• Interacting with customers in a professional
• Clean and service rental equipment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of truck driving experience preferred (CDL license not required, but preferred), and DOT medical card must be obtained prior to commencing employment
• A valid driver's license and safe clean driving record
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, to be familiar with not just traffic laws but rules regarding how often they are required to rest, maximum miles driven and the like.
• Physical fitness since Truck Drivers are required to pass a physical exam every two years.
• Hand-eye coordination, since they must coordinate their hands, legs, and eyes to maintain a fast reaction time on the roads.
• Visual and hearing acuity, in accordance with federal regulations which mandate that truck drivers must hear a forced whisper at 5 feet, have at least 20/40 vision, a 70-degree field of vision and the ability to distinguish the colors of traffic lights.
• Adherence to a background check.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States of America. Some of the job sites that we support require U.S. American citizenship and a clean criminal history in order to access their sites.

Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are the representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Position requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time; move fingers and hands, ability to stoop, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and crouch. Perform the essential duties with minimal or no supervision. Lift and carry up to 50lbs and drag 185lbs.
