About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Tech Specialty: CT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift: 7 PM - 7:30 AM, Friday to Sunday Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Two (2) years of CT scanning experience required License: ARRT (CT), license for practicing state Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - CT scanning - Patient preparation - Patient education - Clienttion safety - Infection control Description: The CT Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images. These images must meet or exceed department and industry standards. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as image quality. Prepares patients for the procedure while educating them and responding to any questions or concerns. Ensures communication and safety approaches are appropriate for different age groups. Maintains patient education and principles of physical and functional growth and development. Demonstrates understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques. Oversees and trains students providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training. Verifies the ordered exam and appropriateness utilizing assessment data and principles of growth and development. Administers contrast as directed. Positions the patient and equipment to achieve optimal images. Works with physicians to evaluate the images and determine if additional images are needed. Applies radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff. Prepares patients for procedures, educates them, and responds to questions or concerns. Ensures an age-appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education, and principles of physical and functional growth and development.
