Heavy Equipment OperatorJames Construction Group, LLC is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator for Primoris Heavy Civil projects in Laredo, TX. This role involves operating various types of heavy machinery to perform construction tasks efficiently and effectively, contributing to the successful completion of large-scale civil construction projects.Job ResponsibilitiesOperate multiple pieces of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, rollers, and compactors, in a safe and productive manner.Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment, including fueling, lubricating, and cleaning, and report any mechanical issues or defects immediately.Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and other construction documents to ensure accurate excavation, grading, and material placement.Excavate, backfill, level, and spread materials according to project specifications and established grades.Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.Work collaboratively with ground crew, supervisors, and other team members to ensure efficient project workflow and adherence to safety protocols.Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.Assist with other general labor duties as needed when not operating equipment.Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers regarding project progress, potential hazards, and equipment status.Job QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED).Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience operating multiple types of heavy civil construction equipment.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred.Proven ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations and best practices.Ability to read and interpret grade stakes, blueprints, and other construction plans.Physical ability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions, including sitting for extended periods, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends, as project demands require.Reliable transportation to and from job sites in the Laredo, TX area.Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Primoris Heavy Civil provides highway, port, airfield, rail and marine (intermodal transportation) construction services to private commercial and industrial clients as well as governmental entities such as the Department of Transportation and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
