About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Candidates must have Med Surg experience. Description: Unit is a post-surgical unit with a heavy volume over mid-week. Candidates must be able to work shifts as needed. Excessive requests for time off will not be approved. The unit has 22 beds and is staffed with 36 members. Staffing varies by census for both day and night shifts. Patient ratios are 1:5 with ancillary support. The unit is equipped with PCA pumps, ice machines, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, teleboxes, and IV pumps. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates often float within the system and occasionally to different areas. Preferred candidates will have orthopedics or PCU experience. Typical procedures performed include Tarlov/meningeal cyst removal, joint reconstruction, hip and knee surgery, lumbar and cervical disc surgery, and orthopedic spine surgery. Ideal candidates should be energetic and team players. This unit offers new equipment and technology, as well as a supportive work environment.
