Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - Certified Surgical Technologist/CST

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital Operating Room position requiring at least 1 year of surgical tech experience.

Job Details

• Hospital Operating Room setting,
• Day shift schedule from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM with Wednesdays off,
• 40 hours per week over 4 days,
• On-call requirements apply,
• Weekend and holiday shifts on a rotating basis,
• EPIC EMR charting used,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of surgical technologist experience required,
• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of completion of a Surgical Technology program required,
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required,
• IDPH Fingerprinting required,
• License required if applicable,
• Ability to independently scrub basic surgical procedures,
• Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology,
• Applied knowledge of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers in the surgical setting,
• Demonstrated understanding of sterile technique and perioperative teamwork,

Additional Information

• Function as first, second, or assisting Surgical Technician under RN supervision during the intraoperative period,
• Maintain sterile environment through consistent application of aseptic principles,
• Provide age-specific care to obstetrical patients per department policy,
• Assist with organization and coordination of supplies and equipment,
• Participate in room turnover, set-up, and equipment maintenance,
• Perform sterilization and disinfection procedures and document loads per policy,
• Charge for equipment and supplies used during procedures,
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, coworkers, and self while adhering to safety and legal requirements,
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract,
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
