The HVAC Technician performs skilled, complex work relating to the repair, maintenance, and installation of heating, ventilating, air‑conditioning, and refrigeration equipment/systems. Responsibilities Performs routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems. Installs heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment to enhance or upgrade capabilities. Diagnoses the cause of problems or failures in HVAC systems to identify repair or replacement needs. Inspects HVAC systems and components (e.g., heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, boilers, etc.) to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs, and recommend preventive maintenance. Utilizes time efficiently, balancing duties in a timely fashion. Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Skills Minimum two years of experience in an HVAC role in a commercial setting. Universal EPA Refrigeration Certificate. Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
