Engineer 2

Pay Rate: $60 - $64/Hour Overview An Engineer 2 is part of a key team of Technology professionals that applies scientific, mathematical and social principles to design, build, and maintain technology products, devices, systems and solutions. These technology products and solutions provide amazing customer experiences while meeting the needs of the business. The scope, responsibility and accountability is at the function level. We are looking for individuals who believe infrastructure as code is as important as application code and know that the health of their system depends on more than just the JVM. You will get to face a unique set of design challenges and work with large scale distributed systems. This is a high value area supporting the Stores data feeds which empower our Sales people to ensure our customers have a great experience. Skills Design and collaborate with local and partner teams Test all scenarios and conform to quality standards Identify performance issues; apply knowledge of security coding practices and secure system fundamentals (e.g., cross-site scripting, security certificates) Demonstrate thorough knowledge of information technology concepts issues, trends and best practices as they relate to the discipline/practice Demonstrate advanced knowledge of specific needs of a major line of business and the related set of applications, systems or functions Administrate systems through infrastructure as code; modernize systems both in cloud and on-prem Understand network flows and test assumptions using data Lead and enforce industry engineering standards, contribute towards their continuous improvement and be active in the community of practice. You will be expected to display an operational mindset, support, and ensure reliability of the solution and systems under your purview. Think of the customer (other engineering teams and business users) and how they will use the features you develop, have a customer focused mentality. Think deeply about the underlying system that is running your code, test driven development that prioritizes quality. Education 2+ years of professional experience in practice area Bachelor s or Master s degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent practical experience Systems knowledge and basic networking fundamentals A high sense of ownership A drive to solve challenging design problems #J-18808-Ljbffr
