SMT Process Engineer (2nd Shift)

Job Purpose This position will support our SMT medical device production in Sanmina’s Medical Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Carrollton. Candidate will be required to interface with customers and participate in customer meetings. Candidate must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with other members of the technical and production staff, including the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non‑technical personnel. Nature of Duties Support manufacturing for surface mount electronics (SMT) and through‑hole soldering Specify new equipment and evaluate new equipment, processes, and materials Generate post‑build/DFM reports and present them to customers Component analysis Failure analysis Review customer engineering change orders and deviations and apply them to the process Work with the quote group to quote new assemblies Process improvement and process development for SMT Review customer returned materials Yield review, develop corrective action, and implement corrective actions Train production personnel Generate process documentation New product introduction and development Show flexibility and initiative to take on other roles/processes outside of the SMT area as needed Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Minimum 2 years experience supporting manufacturing Medical manufacturing experience and familiarity with ISO 13485 a plus Working knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 Solder Requirements – IPC Solder Certification is a plus Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standard for a quality management system (QMS) Working knowledge of 5S Lean Six Sigma practices Experience executing process optimization, including process engineering Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to generate innovative solutions to a broad range of issues Ability to explain complex technical issues to other functions in clear and understandable terms Ability to meet aggressive program deliverables Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Advanced skills in MS Excel a plus, including creating formulas, macros, and charting Experience with Agile and Oracle applications is a plus Ability to follow oral and written guidelines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Organized and detail oriented Willingness to learn, take initiative, and offer improvement ideas Sanmina is an Equal Opportunity Employer – M/F/Veteran/Disability/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity #J-18808-Ljbffr
