Title Clerk

Roper Kia is a locally owned dealership in Joplin, MO with a growing team of 75–90 employees. We are looking for a  tenacious, critical-thinking Title Clerk to own our titling department and join our fast-paced business office team.

Because of our unique location in Joplin, we routinely handle vehicle titling across  four different states daily (MO, KS, OK, AR) . This isn't just a data-entry job; we need a tenacious, critical thinking, problem solver. The ideal candidate is someone who prides themselves on absolute accuracy, loves the challenge of perfectly organized legal paperwork, and possesses the grit to hunt down missing documents to keep our deals moving.

+ Essential Job Functions

Title & Deal Processing (Primary Focus)

• Efficiently and accurately process DMV title and registration paperwork for Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

• Verify legal ownership documents, power of attorney forms, state tax requirements, and lien releases.

• Utilize  CDK and  Dealertrack daily to input data, track deals, and manage electronic titling workflows.

• Resolve complex title issues, out-of-state vin verification bottlenecks, and state DMV rejections with a tenacious, problem-solving mindset.

Office Collaboration & Operations Support

• Maintain a "team-first" attitude by participating in the business office rotation. All office staff rotate coverage of the cashier window on a regular basis. 

• Scan completed deal jackets, titles, and finance paperwork into our database system for permanent record-keeping.

• Provide backup support for phone coverage, customer receipts, and basic office administration when title volume allows.

+ Required Qualifications

• The "Tenacious" Mindset: Strong critical-thinking skills and a passion for solving administrative puzzles.

• High attention to detail, deadline ownership, and strict confidentiality with sensitive customer financial data.

• Strong computer literacy, including comfort with spreadsheets and specialized automotive software.

• Excellent communication skills—you’ll be interacting with state DMVs, finance managers, and customers to resolve paperwork issues.

+ Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Automotive Title Clerk (experience with multi-state titling is a massive plus).

• Hands-on experience with  CDK and  Dealertrack systems.

• Active  Notary Public designation (or willingness to become one quickly).

+ Compensation and Benefits

• Pay: Based on Experience.

• Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Standard office hours are 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM.

• Overtime: Any overtime should be approved ahead of time by the department manager.

• Dress Requirements: Business casual during the week. On Fridays and Saturdays, nice jeans may be worn. Roper Kia branded polos are also provided by the dealership.

• Holidays & Benefits: Roper Kia is closed on 5 major holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Christmas Day. Employees are eligible to sign up for health insurance after 60 days and vacation days after 1 year. Additional life and supplemental health insurance are also available.
