Senior Vice President Finance

Job Description The Senior Vice President (SVP), Finance is a critical enterprise leadership role with responsibility for both end‑to‑end financial operations, financial strategy, and enterprise financial stewardship. Reporting directly to the CFO, the SVP provides executive oversight of core finance functions while serving as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team on enterprise strategy, performance, and resource allocation. The SVP is accountable for ensuring the strength, integrity, and scalability of financial operations—including planning, reporting, treasury, and controls, and analytics—while also playing a central role in enterprise financial decision‑making, financial governance, and executive‑level problem solving. With broad exposure to board engagement and external stakeholders, this role requires a leader who can seamlessly operate between operational rigor and strategic influence, shaping the enterprise financial narrative, elevating financial insight and discipline across the organization. The SVP is expected to bring an enterprise‑wide perspective, sound judgment, and strong executive presence to advance the organization’s long‑term financial health and sustainability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all finance operations, including Procurement, Treasury, FP&A, and Accounting, ensuring strong and effective governance, controls, and performance management. Partner with the CFO and Executive Leadership Team to co‑develop and execute the organization’s short‑ and long‑term financial strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals, growth priorities, and transformation initiatives. Lead enterprise‑wide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes, delivering clear, timely, and actionable insights to support decision‑making. Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of financial reporting in compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal control standards. Direct financial evaluation for strategic investments and growth opportunities, utilizing complex modeling, scenario analysis, and post‑investment performance monitoring. Oversee treasury and cash management activities, including liquidity planning, investment strategies, debt management, and financial risk mitigation. Architect the enterprise financial narrative by connecting results, outlooks, and strategic trade‑offs into a coherent story for executive leadership and the Board of Directors. Serve as the CFO’s principal delegate in executive and cross‑functional settings, representing the finance function on all enterprise‑level matters. Drive finance transformation initiatives, including process modernization, system optimization, and enhanced analytics to improve organizational agility and scalability. Lead and inspire a high‑performing finance leadership team while fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, stewardship, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

16+ years with Bachelor's degree; 10+ years supervisory experience. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or CFA strongly preferred. 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior executive responsibility across multiple finance disciplines (e.g., FP&A, Accounting, Treasury). Demonstrated experience partnering with C‑suite leaders and presenting to Boards or governing committees on financial matters. Proven ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels within complex finance environments, with sound judgment, executive presence, and enterprise mindset. Experience leading finance functions through transformation, growth, or organizational change. Exceptional strategic, analytical, and financial acumen. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build and lead executive‑level teams. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences. Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution. High level of integrity, judgment, and accountability.

BASE PAY INFORMATION

The national base pay range at the end is a good‑faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. Pay Grade H. $249,470 - $399,152
