Operations Analyst

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Operations Analyst for one of our major financial services clients. This person will be a main point of contact for institutional clients and internal business partners on post-execution equity trade processing. They'll manage the institutional equity trade lifecycle from execution through settlement, covering trade matching, affirmation, exception resolution, and risk mitigation. The role works closely with Trading, Sales, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and external market participants in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The typical day ends around 6:00-6:30pm, and candidates should be able to stay until 8:00pm at times.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing institutional equity trades from execution through final settlement Answering client questions on trade status, settlement, affirmations, and exceptions Monitoring and resolving unmatched trades, settlement breaks, fails, and trade discrepancies Working with custodians, prime brokers, counterparties, and clients to get trades settled on time Doing root cause analysis on recurring exceptions and recommending process improvements Supporting client onboarding, account maintenance, and settlement and fail exposure reporting

Skills and Requirements

Experience in institutional equities, trade support, middle office, client service, or settlement operations Strong understanding of the institutional equity trade lifecycle (matching, affirmation, clearance, and settlement) Client-focused mindset with strong relationship management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on spotting and resolving risk Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under strict deadlines Strong attention to detail when handling high transaction volumes Understanding of operational risk, settlement risk, and trade exception management Able to work independently and collaborate across global teams Knowledge of DTCC, NSCC, DTC, Omgeo CTM, ALERT, SWIFT, and institutional settlement workflows Familiarity with FIX messaging, electronic trading platforms, and post-trade processing Experience supporting domestic and international equity markets Track record of finding process optimization and efficiency opportunities Exposure to automation projects or strategic change programs
