Civil Rights Attorney, BigLaw Firms

Role Overview
Apply civil rights law expertise to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems using high-quality, real-world legal analysis. This remote contract role focuses on improving how AI models reason about complex civil rights issues. Prior AI experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret complex civil rights statutes, regulations, and case law for relevance and accuracy.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare written summaries, memoranda, and analyses of key legal issues and precedents.
- Develop and review realistic civil rights scenarios, hypotheticals, and legal problems for AI model development.
- Evaluate AI-generated legal analyses, provide expert feedback, and confirm alignment with legal standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to clarify legal concepts, resolve ambiguities, and maintain input quality.
- Create clear, concise, accurate legal content for varied learning contexts.
- Identify emerging civil rights trends and potential risks involving AI and technology platforms.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction.
- Substantial civil rights law practice experience, preferably from a prominent BigLaw firm.
- Strong record of legal research, legal writing, and case law analysis in complex, high-stakes matters.
- Expertise in civil rights law, policy analysis, statutory interpretation, and legal research and analysis.
- Exceptional critical thinking, attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to translate statutes, policies, and legal concepts for non-legal audiences.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary or technology-driven environments is preferred.
- Interest in law, policy, emerging technologies, AI, and their societal impacts.
Work Terms
- Remote contract engagement.
Compensation
- $140 to $400 per hour.
