Day Shift Welder/Fitter
This role focuses on structural welding and fitting of very large steel poles used for street lighting and traffic control. You will work in a heavy manufacturing environment, using metalcore and flux core processes to weld large materials and assemble structural components to precise specifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural welding and fitting on large steel materials to manufacture poles for street lighting and traffic control applications.
- Use metalcore and flux core welding processes to complete high-quality welds on heavy industrial components.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions, layouts, and welding requirements for each project.
- Fit and align large structural components accurately prior to welding to ensure proper assembly and structural integrity.
- Complete and pass required weld tests, including welding 1/2 inch flat plate in the 1G position with 1/16th metalcore wire and bevel bar.
- Complete and pass required fitting tests to demonstrate ability to accurately assemble and fit structural components.
- Maintain consistent weld quality and adhere to safety and manufacturing standards in a heavy industrial environment.
- Use and care for personal welding equipment, including weld hood, and follow all safety procedures while working on large structures.
- Work reliably on the day shift schedule and contribute to production goals through steady, above-average performance and tenure.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of heavy industrial welding and fitting experience, specifically working with large structural materials.
- Proficiency with metalcore and flux core welding processes in a structural fabrication environment.
- Ability to perform structural welder/fitter duties in heavy manufacturing settings.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately for structural fabrication and welding work.
- Capability to pass a weld test on 1/2 inch flat plate in the 1G position using 1/16th metalcore wire with bevel bar.
- Capability to pass a fitting test demonstrating accurate layout, fitting, and assembly of structural components.
- Experience working with very large structures and heavy materials in an industrial environment.
- Commitment to safety practices, including consistent use of required personal protective equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience manufacturing structural poles or similar large-scale industrial products.
- Background in heavy manufacturing environments with structural welding and fitting responsibilities.
- Demonstrated above-average tenure and reliability in previous welding and fitting roles.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high weld quality on large, complex assemblies.

Work Environment
This position is based in a heavy manufacturing facility focused on producing very large structural poles. The role is for the day shift, typically from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work around large materials and industrial equipment in a busy production environment. A hardhat is required and provided, and you must supply your own weld hood and steel-toe boots. Safety standards are strictly enforced, and proper personal protective equipment must be worn at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.50 - $24.50/hr.
