Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary: The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) specializes in obstetric care, providing comprehensive nursing services to inpatient obstetric patients. This role involves managing patient assessments, implementing individualized care plans, and supporting both labor and delivery processes to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Perform initial assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify nursing interventions and procedures specific to obstetric care.
Monitor fetal well-being, administer medications, and provide patient education related to obstetric health.
Document all care activities accurately to ensure seamless communication within the healthcare team.
Support labor, delivery, and surgical procedures, actively participating in intrapartum care.
Promote safety by reporting hazards, resolving issues, and ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications:

Possess a minimum of three (3) years of relevant nursing experience.
Hold an active Illinois state RN license in good standing.
Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications through the American Heart Association.
Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
Have a solid understanding of obstetric nursing practices and protocols.
