About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Post Partum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) Experience: Minimum of two years of Post Partum nursing experience License: Licensed RN able to practice in the State Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale, Neonatal Resuscitation Must-Have: NURSING PROCESS IMPLEMENTATION, DOCUMENTATION, SHIFT REPORTING, POSTPARTUM NURSING, PATIENT ASSESSMENT Description: The RN performs under direct supervision and is assigned to achieve quality patient care. The RN shall implement the nursing process in an organized and systematic manner. This includes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in collaboration with the Patient Care Coordinator. Documentation in the Patient Care Record must reflect this process. The RN is responsible for patient care and ultimately accountable to the Patient Care Manager. Other job duties may be assigned as needed. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status. Interprets appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements. Provides care as needed based on age-specific needs. Delivers thorough, concise, and timely documentation, shift reports, and verbal communication. Communicates pertinent patient information to all healthcare team members. Maintains clinical skills, staying current in skills, equipment, and certifications. Key areas of focus include the Infant Security System, Baby Friendly Initiative, and Family Centered Care. Communicates effectively with others in an appropriate and timely manner. Adheres to and promotes established values of the organization, such as customer service and safety compliance standards. Interacts effectively and builds respectful relationships with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Follows policies outlined in the Employee Handbook. Mental and physical demands require the ability to lift, handle, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. The position will involve a high-risk fast-paced environment. Couplet care is typically provided with a ratio of 3:1. The RN will also be required to assist in labor and delivery tasks if needed.
