Frontload Driver (Commercial Route)

Position Summary A Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver ensures the vehicle meets company safety standards before operating, adheres to all company, state, and federal regulations, and completes daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs) to address any defects in a timely manner. Principal Responsibilities Perform complete pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of the vehicle to confirm tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports. Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route to the disposal site, reading the route sheet, following the map, and servicing each customer as identified or assigned by dispatcher or supervisor. Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with company safety policies to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of collected material at the designated facility. Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner. Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them per departmental procedures. Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials. Clean the area around accidental waste spills, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies. Maintain the vehicle’s operational readiness at all times to minimize downtime; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body when appropriate on each disposal trip. Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports as required. Adhere to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced efficiently. Follow all required safety policies and procedures. Participate actively in the company’s ReSOP program. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Demonstrate good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; act in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner toward customers and co‑workers; work with honesty and trustworthiness. Use good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed efficiently and safely. Follow work schedules and follow through on challenges as they arise. Adhere to company policies, promote safety standards, and avoid inappropriate risks. Maintain pride in work and strive to achieve all goals. Minimum Requirements Class B or higher commercial driver’s license with air brakes endorsement. Pay Range The pay range for this position is $22.40 to $30.80, reflecting the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.
