Part-time Registered Respiratory Therapist III - Weekends @ Cobb Hospital Job Summary: The Respiratory Therapist III is responsible for medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on expanded knowledge, experience, and the evaluate-and-treat process. The role includes delivering patient care in complex situations, primarily in critical care areas, with protocol ventilator management, independent decision-making, and self‑direction. The RT III also provides patient, family, and staff education, supports professional development, and participates in the education of new employees. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Provide customer service, completing patient care, documentation, and education. Promote a team approach, team spirit, and a positive work environment. Administer quality patient care: perform patient assessment, collaborate with the healthcare team, verify orders, and administer aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, and oxygen medical gas therapy. Perform ventilator management, weaning, waveform graphic interpretation, and airway management (intubation, extubation, tracheostomy tube change and care). Perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, educate patients, and mentor/precept new employees, students, and peers. Assist in invasive and non‑invasive procedures, cardiac service procedures, and pulmonary diagnostic testing (location specific). Promote accurate electronic orders, charting, and charging; promote patient safety, performance improvement, evidence‑based practice, and review revised and new DPPs. Required Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with a minimum of 20 quarter hours of science (Required). Associate’s Degree (Required). Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred).
