Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This unit specializes in surgical patients with a focus on joint replacements and general surgery cases, as well as telemetry medical patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients across all age ranges, from adolescents to the elderly.
• Collaborate with a healthcare team using a care delivery model of 1 RN, 1 LPN, and 1 PCT for every 9 patients.
• Participate in the management of surgical patients, including those recovering from hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, as well as various general surgical procedures.
• Utilize and manage specific equipment such as wall suction for patients requiring suction therapy.
• Adapt to varying staffing situations by employing modified team structures when full teams are not available.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license and relevant certifications (ACLS, BLS, NIHSS).
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with previous charge experience preferred.
• Flexibility to float to other medical-surgical units as required.
• Ability to cover shifts every other weekend or complete four weekend shifts per month.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Additional Information:

• Staffing ratios are maintained at 1 RN to 9 patients across all shifts.
• Local candidates will not be accepted; applicants must reside more than 75 miles away.
• Dress code includes a combination of navy blue and/or white scrubs.
