Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery/Mother Baby position requiring 2 years of experience and AWHONN, BLS, and NRP certifications.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit caring for antepartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum patients
- Provide care for labor, delivery, C-section, and newborn/mother-baby couplet patients
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) with option for 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekend requirement of 6 shifts in 6 weeks or every third weekend
- EMR system is Epic
- May be required to float to like units within scope based on facility needs
Requirements
- Active KS or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS, AWHONN, and NRP certifications required
- 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Experience in high-risk antepartum, vaginal and C-section deliveries, and newborn/postpartum care
- Skilled in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and administration of medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate
- Experience managing complications such as postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, and preterm labor preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assisting with vaginal and C-section deliveries, neonatal resuscitation, and postpartum recovery care
- Provide patient education on breastfeeding, car seat safety, cord care, and newborn discharge teaching
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- Former employees must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
