IPA provides M&A, capital raising, strategic advisory and capital markets services to clients across sectors and stages of growth. The Strategic Advisory team focuses on companies at the intersection of Power and Energy Transition, while the Capital Markets team has underwritten hundreds of billions of dollars in equity and debt transactions through the firm’s broker‑dealer, Independence Point Securities. Role Overview We are seeking an Investment Banking Analyst to join the Strategic Advisory team at Independence Point Advisors, with a focus on Power and Energy Transition‑related sectors. The Analyst will support both business development initiatives and deal‑related execution. The ideal candidate will be passionate about a career in investment banking and have a natural curiosity about the core sectors we cover. They will be a self‑starter, eager to learn new skill sets quickly, with strong modeling, Excel and PowerPoint skills and a strong grasp of key corporate finance and project finance concepts. The Analyst will work directly with senior team members in a lean, entrepreneurial environment and will benefit from hands‑on training and professional development opportunities. The role is expected to be in person at IPA’s NYC office four days per week. Primary Responsibilities Support multiple sectors: Support sector coverage spanning Power and Energy Transition. Perform valuation analyses: Work on a standard suite of corporate finance and project finance modeling analytics, including discounted cash flow (DCF), pro forma merger analysis and trading and transaction comparables, to support financial decision‑making. Prepare investment banking presentations: Assist in the preparation of pitch books, including market updates, sector analyses, TAM overviews and investor insights, using PowerPoint, PitchBook, FactSet, Excel and other industry‑specific databases. Conduct economic and industry research: Perform in‑depth research on industry trends, economic indicators and market dynamics, contributing to the firm’s understanding of factors impacting investment decisions and strategy. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Preference for 1 to 2 years of relevant investment banking experience or, at a minimum, an investment banking internship within the past 12 months Experience within Power, Energy and Infrastructure is a plus but not required Foundational understanding of M&A and capital raising, with the ability to apply skills creatively to a diverse set of clients’ needs Minimum GPA of 3.4 / 4.0 Detail‑oriented with exceptional critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel Ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously Resourceful self‑starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in a lean, high‑ownership environment Professional interpersonal skills with ability to engage with clients and team members Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong work ethic and a high level of professional integrity Apply directly to this role: #J-18808-Ljbffr Independence Point Advisors
