Buckingham, Virginia is a beautiful rural community set in the Blue Ridge mountains. The town offers beautiful views, plenty of outdoor hiking activities, and most of the town is easily accessed by foot or bicycle. The city has a blend of college-town and historical amenities. Buckingham is less than an hour from Charlottesville, VA and the suburbs of Richmond, VA.

Centra Medical Group (CMG) is a comprehensive network of nearly 600 employed providers within Centra Health. Centra Health services a population of 600,000 community members with 70 different outpatient and specialty practices. Centra offers primary care and specialty services across Central and Southern Virginia—from Lynchburg to Danville, Farmville, Moneta, and Bedford. CMG is also home to the Lynchburg Family Medicine Residency, a training program for future family physicians, many of whom hold academic appointments with institutions like UVA, VCU, VCOM, and Liberty University.

Responsibilities

• Monday-Friday, 8am – 5pm.
• Patient volume expectation of 18 patients/day once fully ramped up.
• Position will provide care for patients across the life span. Performs health assessments, follow-up exams for acute & chronic disease management, order & interpret diagnostic tests, medication management.
• Our ideal candidate will be an FNP with primary care experience treating all ages.
• New grads with a passion for learning & growing will also be considered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program, and Masters of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN).
• Current licensure by the Virginia State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
• Maintains BLS and ACLS Certifications.
• Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse.
