Hand Therapist

Job Title Hand Therapist Department Ambulatory Services | Sports Medicine Physical Therapy Dublin Overview Team members are licensed or certified professional Occupational Therapists or Certified Hand Therapists who work within a specific team structure to offer outpatient upper extremity rehabilitation services. They provide comprehensive care for patients with orthopedic upper extremity problems, burns, and amputations, under the supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services and clinic manager. Responsibilities Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with state laws and professional rules. Collaborate in multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic, working with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and others. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, provide a variety of therapeutic techniques, and educate patients and families. Facilitate continuing care planning and participate in outcomes management activities. Supervise and mentor students, rehab assistants, and athletic trainers as part of the team. Assume responsibility towards colleagues and patient care activities. Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy, licensed and/or certified in the respective profession. Required Qualifications All occupational therapist/certified hand therapist team members must be licensed and/or certified with the respective profession and meet the educational and/or certification requirements established by their professions. All academic degrees must be from an accredited institution and licensed professionals must be cleared through the National Database of Practitioners. Two years of experience working in a medical setting is preferred. Occupational Therapists hired after August 2010 must attain and maintain hand certification no later than 24 months after eligibility is met.
